Best Personal Development Books for 2020

March 31, 2020 by radmin

The COVID-19 Crisis has had a devastating impact worldwide and is one of the most significant challenges of our lifetime. Let’s face it, no one likes being sheltered-in with limited freedom. However, while this is a huge obstacle for some it’s also a time of great opportunity for others. If you think about it, with so much newfound free time on our hands it is the perfect time to be productive and achieve some personal growth. Whether that be by setting new goals, finishing home projects, starting a clean eating program, or accomplishing something altogether amazing. Great ideas are often born in the face of great adversity, so make this time count!

One way I plan to use some of the lockdown period is by reading some books on my Kindle, I haven’t gotten around to tackling yet. Reading is a fantastic way to take your mind to new places, be exposed to new ideas, and to continue the journey of learning. With that being said, here are some books Ive read in the past few months that I think offer a lot of value.

I’ll admit it, being cold is my Kryptonite. So, the thought of plunging into freezing water as a means of personal growth is not exactly appealing. However, this informative book by author Scott Carney takes a deep look at the unusual training methods espoused by Dutch fitness guru, Wim Hof. This fascinating study explores ways to push past the traditional limits of human endurance by exposing ourselves to brutal environmental conditions in search of developing new connections between our body and mind. If you are looking for some out of the box methods to develop new physical and mental toughness, give this one a look.

Ryan Holiday is one of my absolute favorite authors. That’s why I had to read his latest volume that takes an informative look into some of the greatest thinkers of our time including Marcus Aurelius, Confucius, Winston Churchill and more. His goal is get a better understanding of figures who have exemplified the power of stillness by looking at some of the key influences they experienced in their lifetime. Given the uncertain current state of the world, where entire industries have come to a standstill, and life has taken on a much different look, this book could be one that opens your mind in exciting new ways as to how to face what comes next in the months and years to come.

Dave Asprey, the founder of the popular Bulletproof brand, is another personal favorite. Not one to accept the status quo, this book offers a blueprint for how he plans to extend his life span well being what is the human norm by embarking on a unique regimen of diet, exercise, sleep and other bio-hacks to make substantial changes on a sub-cellular level. Using himself as his own test subject, Asprey shares his findings on the things he has found that work and don’t work in his quest to transform himself into a true Super Human. While I can’t say how his journey will ultimately turn out, it is a thought-provoking look at ways of pushing what are commonly accepted human boundaries.

Finally, there is a look at high achievers and how they reach the top levels of performance written by Alan Stein Jr. who is not only one of the top personal trainers in the world, but also one heck of a nice guy. In this book, Stein offers first hand experiences from working with world class athletes like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant to identify principles for success that can be applied in life, business, and just about any areas you can think of where you would like to raise your game. Some people talk a good game, but the author here has clearly lived these out and offers tangible ways to put them into action and see the kinds of results that encourage further growth and development. This is another great informative read.

Conclusion

These are just some examples of awesome books that can benefit you now and well into the future. So don’t be afraid to take the steps needed to continually get better in every aspect of your own life!

THE BEST SELF DEVELOPMENT BOOKS OF 2018

December 31, 2018 by radmin

As I look back on 2018, I think of the many great accomplishments that I have checked off my list, while at the same time realizing there are many things I did not complete to my satisfaction. That just means with 2019 just around the corner, I know there are many more challenges to conquer!

One of the commons traits shared by many successful people is a love for reading. High-performing individuals have a thirst for knowledge and in the age we live in there is a near-unlimited amount of books readily available to satisfy the hungriest minds. I myself read voraciously and at any one time have an assortment of books on my Kindle to me mind active, engaged, and inspired. I completed more than 75 books this year, and still feel like there was not enough time to read everything I wanted to learn about!

As someone who strives to be a thought leader in both fitness and lifestyle design, Self Development books are amongst my favorite reading material, as I continually push myself to become better in all areas of life. That being said, here are some of the best self development books that I read this past year which have played big parts in my growth and success.

Written by the founder of Bulletproof,, Dave Asprey, Game Changers is a handbook for those who want to”kick more ass at life.” The book itself implements the know-how of business titans, cutting-edge scientists, notable thought-leaders, and an assortment of world-class performers to delve into the science of success. By finding some common shared traits and habits, Asprey is able to piece together some easy-tim-implement techniques for those who want to reach new levels of performance and experience tangible results in the health, wealth, and well-being. One of the biggest takeaways for me in this book was the notion that going on a search of self-discovery is nowhere near impactful as taking the initiative to decide and create the person you ultimately want to be.

Unlike some books that strive to hard with scientific jargon and hard to understand processes, this book take a more conversational approach and presents the concepts in easy to digest language. This is a hard-hitting book that will help you re-examine your life and take new approaches to success and happiness..

Atomic Habits is written by James Clear, one of the world’s leading experts of habit formation. The book itself offers a comprehensive framework for building good habits, overcoming low motivation, and getting back on track should you fall into a pattern of old bad habits. Contained within is a toolkit that can be seamlessly integrated into anyone’s life to help produce noticeable change. The main focus seems to be that changes, no matter how small which become habitual, can have huge results over time. The thing I really enjoyed about this book was the simplicity it offers in demonstrating examples of how you can make similar impact in your own life. Far from going over your head, this is chock full of actionable content. A great read, no matter what the year.

Ben Angel’s book, Unstoppable, was one of the most eye-opening reads for me. Suffering from an unexplainable bout with chronic fatigue, the author found himself at the end of his rope.Doctors would tell him the same thing, that he was tired because he was depressed, but in reality he was depressed because he was tired, and something needed to change. At a loss for answers, he undertook a most unusual path, which is chronished in these pages. On his search for answers to better health, Angel emarks on a journey that takes him deep into the world of biohacking, nootropics, and wearable technology. Some if these things, I had a level of familiarity with, while others were completely new. If you are looking for out-of-the-box approaches to better health and self-improvement, you will find a wealth of tantalizing prospects here.

Dream Big, Take Action in 2019

As the new year approaches, this is a perfect time to set goals and take action. If you are looking to start 2019 with fresh resolve and determination to achieve greatness, give one, or all, of these books a try to help you reach the elusive next level! You might just be shocked at what you are capable of.

BEN ANGEL’S UNSTOPPABLE BOOK REVIEW

November 14, 2018 by radmin

As someone who is fascinated by the subjects of both peak performance and the science of success, I’m always looking for new books that can open my mind and offer insight to enhance my productivity. That’s why I was so thrilled to finally get my hands on the newest book from Ben Angel, Unstoppable A 90-Day Plan to Biohack Your Mind and Body for Success.

No products found.

Ben Angel, is a best-selling author and authority in the marketing industry and his latest book chronicles his journey to overcome a debilitating bought with fatigue that threatened to end his career and irreparably affect the quality of his life. As he searched for some answers to the cause of this mysterious exhaustion, doctors were unable to get to the root of his problem, and came to the frustrating conclusion “You are tired, because you are depressed”, while Angel’s thoughts were just the opposite. He was depressed because he was always tired. Clearly he knew he needed to be proactive in looking in a different direction if he was going to find a way back to good health. The results of his quest comprise the basis for Unstoppable.

On his journey, Angel travels across the world to learn from the world’s most knowledgeable experts on the subject of nootropics, nutrition, wearable devices and more, all with the goal of not only achieving vIctory over his exhaustion, but to find ways to maximize physical and mental performance. The book is broken into chapters that cover his meetings with noted neuroscientists, doctors and biohackers, including the best-selling founder of Bulletproof, Dave Asprey. It also details his experimentations with performance-enhancing devices such as the Halo Sport and Muse Brain-Sensing Headband, as well as cutting-edge energy drinks such as the astounding HVMN Ketone mix. Needless to say, the results of his journey are eye-opening indeed and question many of things we take for granted in terms of good nutrition and the wisdom of medicinal science.

I would give this book my highest rating. Not only because it is an entertaining read, but because you will also learn so much about some things you might not have considered that could be affecting your own health and performance. Chronic Fatigue is a bigger problem than ever as we lead busier, more stressful lives and consume larger percentage of unhealthy foods and chemicals than previous generations. This book goes a long way towards finding some answers, and offering a game plan for not accepting the inevitable. If you are tired of feeling tired, or simply want to learn easy and actionable ways to perform better and improve your overall fitness (mental and physical), this book is a must-read. In some cases, it may even be a life-changing read. I know it has been for me.
